Offers castings with significant cast-in features and details
Gray iron is a very versatile foundry metal that is suitable for producing a variety of castings for pump, valve, compressor, motor, rail, mining and automotive.
Benton Foundry offers the unique ability to offer 60-40-18 in an as-cast condition. This advantage saves customers the heat treat cost normally associated with this grade of iron.
Ductile Iron Advantages:
Economic to produce
High strength and wear resistance – similar to forged or fabricated steel
High strength to weight ratio
Produces lightweight castings
Ductile iron is a form of iron that receives a treatment with magnesium before the casting process, producing a very strong, impact resistant durable metal casting.
Certified producer of ductile iron castings by the Ductile Iron Society since 1994.
Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI) offers the best combination of low cost, design flexibility, good machinability, high strength-to-weight ratio and good toughness, wear resistance and fatigue strength properties. Because it can be cast like any other member of the Ductile Iron family it offers all the production advantages of a conventional Ductile Iron casting. Subsequently it is subjected to the austempering process to produce mechanical properties that are superior to conventional ductile iron, cast and forged aluminum and many cast and forged steels.
Heat treating, delivery, special packaging, painting, machining and assembly are all services offered by Benton Foundry
Benton Foundry utilizes an ISO9001:2008 certified, full-service, heat treatment facility which offers: annealing, stress relieving, normalizing, quenching and tempering, austempering and surface hardening. Benton Foundry is somewhat unique in that we maintain our own trucking fleet for hauling your castings within our service area and backhaul our raw materials, when possible. The use of our trucking fleet helps us ...
One of the keys to our mutual success is to involve Benton Foundry in the design phase of the casting. We can offer input as to how you can improve castability, simplify machining and reduce total net cost. The earlier you get Benton’s team involved, the smoother the prototype, sample and approval process will go in order to get the job into full production. CAD file reviews, 3D modeling and solidification analysis are just a few of the services we offer. Converting forgings and weldments to cast parts is also offered by Benton Foundry engineers, reducing your costs by 15% or more.
In a perfect world, the following information initially would be helpful in expediting your castings. Just as we have a responsibility ...
Benton Foundry is a casting house committed to environmental initiatives and ensures eco-friendly casting operations through various additions and improvements. Our facility does not have steam plumes or smoke stacks, and all of our cooling systems are either closed-loop poly-glycol cooled systems or air-cooled systems. There is no discharge water from our operations.
One of our most recent green initiatives was the reconfiguration of all control points to ensure that all products of combustion are consolidated into one collector, while the other collectors are used for polishing and re-circulating the air. This system upgrade included the addition of a dust collector with an airflow of 120,000 CFM, featuring a 500HP Baldor ...
